Last night, we were able to attend the opening night performance of Disney on Ice: Dream Big at the Long Beach Arena. This was our second time attending a Disney on Ice show and it was as amazing as the last one. We had an incredible time watching the amazing acrobatics and phenomenal skating. Plus, who doesn’t love Disney Princesses?
The performance is divided into two parts with a short 15 minute intermission. Disney on Ice: Dream Big tells the stories of some our most beloved Disney princesses and how their dreams came true. The show is filled with special effects, amazing skating and acrobatics on skates! Tinker Bell, Mickey, Minnie and even Goofy all make an appearance! View Post
It’s that time of year again! The Boysenberry Festival is back at Knott’s Berry Farm to delight your taste buds with over 70 unique boysenberry inspired food, drinks and more! It’s going on from now until April 23rd.
What exactly is a boysenberry? It’s a cross between a red raspberry, blackberry and logan berry. It was created by Rudolph Boysen. Did you know that every boysenberry can be traced back to Walter Knott and his berry farm? He brought some struggling bushes back to his farm and by 1934 had a huge crop of boysenberries which became very popular!
Disney on Ice returns to the Southland later this month in Dream Big! Audiences will be transported into the world of their favorite Disney princesses as they go on amazing adventures and make their dreams come true. Join Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Tiana, Jasmine, Aurora, Snow White and your favorite sisters- Anna and Elsa as they tell their stories through artistic skating and daring acrobatics.

Death is a natural part of life and in the event that someone in your life passes away, you and your family will attend a funeral. As adults, we know what to expect at one but for children, it is a whole new territory. When A was about 2 years old, my maternal grandmother passed away and we attended the funeral. We didn’t really explain anything about death to A at that time because she was too young and didn’t really understand what was going on.
However, about two weeks ago, my father-in-law passed away. He had been sick for over 10 years but it was still sudden and happened so quickly. We are still coping with the loss but as Christians, we take comfort in the fact that he is in heaven and that there is no more pain or suffering. (1 Corinthians 15:42-53)
As adults dealing with grief, we can surround ourselves with friends and other family members to find comfort and find the support we need during such a difficult time. But what about children- especially young children? First of all, they don’t know what to expect at a funeral. Second, they might not even know how to express their emotions about the situation. Third, they will probably have a lot of questions.

Happy first day of Spring! Living in Southern California, spring isn’t as obvious because we get a lot of sunshine throughout the year but that doesn’t stop us from spring cleaning or refreshing our wardrobe for the warmer weather! I love the fall and the ability to layer clothes but I love spring even more with the lighter layers, floral patterns, and fun t-shirts and shorts! View Post
